NOVEMBER: LAST GALLERY NIGHT OF THE SEASON!

SPECIAL ART SHOPPING TOUR with the unveiling of the brand new "Buy Art" buttons!!!

EXPERIENCE GALLERY NIGHT PROVIDENCE: Join us for a fun-filled cultural extravaganza. Twenty-two [22] galleries, museums and historic sites; eight convenient parking lots; live music; refreshments; art buses; celebrity guides and it's all FREE!

WHERE: Meet at any one of the galleries and jump on the art bus, or park behind Citizens Plaza and walk to the front of the building (Steeple Street side), where the art buses pick up and depart every 25 minutes or so.

CELEBRITY GUIDED TOURS
Shop ‘til you Drop! One of our most enthusiastic guides, Sarah Tallarico (the West Side Tour Guide) will be leading our second annual November Shopping Tour. The tour will visit a selection of galleries from each route and leave plenty of time for browsing and purchasing unique gifts. [more]

NEW Galleries: Gail Cahalan Gallery (Wickenden/Wayland Sq), Chabot Fine Art Gallery (West Side), Krause Gallery at Moses Brown (East Side), Providence Public Library (Downtown), Providence Art Windows (Downtown), Royal Gallery (West Side). Please note: Gallery 17 Peck has moved to 303 Atwells Avenue and is now accessed by the West Side Art Buses. Copacetic Rudely Elegant Jewelry has moved from the Arcade to 17 Peck Street (still on the Downtown Loop).

WHERE: Meet at any one of the galleries and jump on the art bus, or park behind Citizens Plaza and walk to the front of building. The buses depart every 25 minutes or so.

NEW: Special theme evenings with lectures, demonstrations and guided tours on subjects including Folk Art, Politics and Art, Photography, Contemporary Painting, Modern and Historic Architecture, Art Glass, and Recycling.

CLOSED GALLERY NIGHT: Although the Providence Art Club is closed for renovations, the Deacon Taylor Studios will remain open for Gallery Night visitors.

GALLERY NIGHT GUIDES are stationed at Citizens Plaza and ride the Art Buses. They offer information about different art exhibitions and point out the city's historic and architectural treasures.

 

ART BUTTONS: BUY ART
Mayor David N. Cicilline and the City of Providence Department of Art, Culture + Tourism unveil a new initiative to encourage the purchase of original artwork during this holiday season. New tonight, limited edition BUY ART buttons created with Providence artists will be given to each and every art buyer. Whether you buy artwork costing $5 or $5000, you'll want to be among the first to wear one of these BUY ART buttons and help us spread the word! Gallery Night is proud to participate in the City's effort to support Providence artists and emphasize the joy of buying, giving and receiving art.

Park Free and Ride the Art Bus!

DIRECTIONS: From 95 North or South, take exit 22 and follow the signs for Downtown Providence. Go straight through the traffic light; you are on Memorial Boulevard. Take a left at the next light onto Exchange Street. Take the next right and then right again to park FREE in the parking lot of Citizens Plaza. It is the Metro Park lot with the booth at the entrance. Check out the MetroPark website, metroparkltd.com (click on P3), for further directions. If there is an attendant on duty, please tell him you are attending Gallery Night. [more]
